  • Job Title: Business Development Manager
    Organization: Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay (VACCEB)
    Location: San Leandro, CA
    Position Type: Full-Time.

    Salary Range:  ~$75K-$80K/annually

    About VACCEB:
    The Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay (VACCEB) has served as a refuge and resource for low-income, refugee, and immigrant communities in the Bay Area for over 25 years. We offer services including ESL, computer, and citizenship classes, grocery distributions, employment and legal services, senior activities, and anti-hate crime resources. Our mission is to support the needs of refugee and immigrant communities through educational, cultural, and social services.

    Position Overview:
    VACCEB is seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Manager to lead our fundraising efforts and strengthen our relationships with local officials, community-based organizations (CBOs), and key stakeholders. This role will focus on securing funding through grants, fundraising events, and strategic partnerships to support our expanding programs and services (~75% of time).  The remaining time will be spent on managing funded contracts, as needed (~25% of time).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet and exceed annual revenue goals.

    • Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with donors, grantmakers, corporate sponsors, and government agencies.

    • Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events, including galas, community events, and donor appreciation activities.

    • Represent VACCEB at networking events, community meetings, and with local, state, and federal officials to promote partnerships and funding opportunities.

    • Collaborate with the program and finance teams to align funding needs with organizational goals.

    • Prepare and submit grant proposals, reports, and other funding documentation in coordination with the finance team. 

    • Monitor fundraising trends and adjust strategies as needed to optimize results.

    • Maintain donor and stakeholder databases to track communications and relationships.

    • Support VACCEB’s leadership team with strategic planning and resource development.

    • Manage funded contracts, as assigned. 

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, business development, or nonprofit management.

    • Proven track record of securing grants, sponsorships, and individual donations.

    • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including government officials and CBOs.

    • Ability to manage funded contracts (i.e., contract administration), as needed.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Experience planning and managing fundraising events

  • We are looking for someone to work 12 hours a week at our center in San Leandro helping pack food bags and distribute them.

  • Job Title: Part Time Bookeeper
    Organization: Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay (VACCEB)
    Location: San Leandro, CA
    Position Type: Part-Time

    Position Summary:

    We seek a passionate, qualified, and reliable Staff Accountant to support our Finance and Administrative Function. The Staff Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day procurement process, data entry, and working directly with the Finance Manager and other administrative staff members and adhere to VACCEB fiscal policies and contractual requirements. The Staff Accountant is responsible for procurement, fixed asset management, contract invoicing, and other administrative assignments as required.

    Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    Responsible for the accurate and timely recording and reporting of fixed assets (VACCEB’s inventory of goods and capital equipment), including distribution to staff, tracking usage, and maintaining records of available inventory.

    Source, negotiate terms, and purchase office and program supplies, including receiving, inspecting, and distributing goods to the staff.

    Assist in supporting office management, such as handling incoming and outgoing mail, including collecting, sorting, and distributing incoming mail to the appropriate recipients.

    Responsible for the accounting and financial records retention requirements (digital and physical financial records), ensuring accurate documentation, proper storage, and easy retrieval of financial records.

    Point of contact on financial records related to VACCEB’s revenue and expenditure and assist with audit preparations.

    Qualifications:

    Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping and administrative support (nonprofit experience a plus).

    Ability to maintain all financial supporting documentation in easily retrievable form.

    Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and working within Google Drive environment.

    Pay range: $20-$24 per hour, 50% FTE
